Goodpersonal service and very comfortable
Cannot fault the food, it is absoluteley superb.Staff are friendly, and you feel important throughout your stay. If you are either on business, pleasure, romantic weekend etc, then I recommend this hotel
No newspaper in a morning, but then plusses outweigh the negatives
The food was excellent and the best cooked steak we have ever had any where. breakfast in bed fantastic .
The hotel was in the middle of a trading estate . new rooms unable to stay in because of new paint and bed to high .room 11 so uneven in the rafts . bed so un evan would have no blood in feet in morning .room 12 ok clean but kettle lead was to short so had to boil on floor . also if a wedding is on you get no sleep untill after midnight if you dont mind .
hotel given over to functions so very noisy. in spite of asking for quiet room when booking was given a room overlooking conservatory holding a party which didnt end till going up for 1 am.maybe the good old fashioned b&b would be a better option at least they rarely hold weddings
It was comfortable and the proprietor and staff were very welcoming
Friendly, efficient service. Good food, well presented. Comfortable room
Room (in older part of hotel) though comfortble was becoming tired & in need of redecoration. However this will not stop us staying there again.
Lovely hotel, good food and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
The room was large and clean and had adequate tea/coffee/tv facilities. The staff were always polite and made a point of saying good morning/evening. The food especially the breakfast was good.
Don't be fooled by thoughts of a "park house"; it is literally a small oasis in the middle of a light industrial area. The residents menu was limited and was the same for the three nights we stayed. Heavy supplements for side orders or other dishes. Glad we were not booked in for a week or more.We felt a bit like it was groundhog day with the same menu and evening / breakfast music being played at each sitting. Time for new mattresses too. There is no non-residents TV facility so we were annoyed when staff allowed a loud group of about eight business people with their drinks to use the adjoining bedroom to us to watch a feature!
Responsive staff when things went wrong.
Photograph suggests quiet country house, but this is a function-driven hotel on a business park, with a heavy function programme and overwhelmed by two large public functions the night we went, with VERY loud discos and events which dominated the hotel. At ten pm discovered the discos contunued till 12.30 and had to ask for quieter room (had asked for quiet room away from public functions). Changed room immediately without argument, but this should not have happened. I appreciate that hotels need to make money with public functions, but beware if the photo suggests a country retreat. Good accommodation and very good food spoiled by noise.
The rooms in the old house are great. Real antique furniture, big comfy beds and great bathrooms. The food served in the restaurant is fantastic. Best of all its great value for money
I cant really fault anything about this hotel
